Double digit means two digits and it starts at 10. I have not caught my DD yet so please do not even start!

I'm still under 10 but I am already upping my goal. there seems to be a lot of 10's being caught and photographed. Maybe technology is warping my expectations of a big bass. Maybe before camera phones and instant uploads to message boards like this kept 10 lbers even more rare. One thing is for sure, TPWD is doing a phenomenal job of producing some big fish in our lakes. The number of bass fishermen that have truely caught a DD probably isnt as much as you think. IMHO

No doubt that thanks to TPWD the bar has been raised but a ten lb bass is still a very rare animal.

Take lots of pictures from different angles. I've seen some bad pictures taken where a fish does not appear as big in the following. Once in a lifetime catch take lots of pics.

Hell no! I take it you've caught that 10 lb'r. So no offense meant but I'd say that is a bit of an arrongant question if you already have that checked off your list. When so many are still trying to get the first DD.

I know alot of guys who fish quite a bit and still haven't caught a DD fish. For those who have I would say it is still the goal to get over 10 lbs. These fish are not as common as one would expect. I'm fortunate in that I got my first 3 years ago 11lb 10oz and I'm looking at the replica as I type.
FISHING NOW NOT WORKING ANYMORE

Not for me, I am still after my first 10 lber. been very close at 9lbs 13oz. but still not there. By reading the post on the forum ten pounds looks pretty easy but in my 45 years of fishing some of the best lakes in the world I still have not done it.

As others have mentioned, it is all about location. A double digit fish is a rare catch for some, but if you live near the right water it is for sure achievable. I live on Amistad and fished every day for a year, finally had to go to Falcon to catch a 10. Now three years on Amistad I still only have one more and it was 11.6. You have to spend a lot of time on the water, I know I do. Falcon bound tomorrow I hope to catch another one. I do not care if it is 10 or even bigger, they are all fun.
