I have never been to Aquilla and it has been several years since I have been to Whitney. The ramp I used at Whitney was McCown Valley Park. Does anyone know where the best places to launch at these lakes? Also any help on when and where to catch shad on these lakes would be appreciated. Thanks!

I was out at Aquilla few weeks ago, i hit rocks in like 2ft of water in front of the dairy hill boat ramp dock. the ramp was still usable, but id trim up the motor a bit leaving the dock. ive been offshore last couple weeks and havent been out, but it was low when i was. watch the hump between the 2 creeks. goes from 17' to less than a foot in a hurry, and this is couple hundreds yards from bank. just be careful on the lake, its really low. cant help with Whitney but some old post on here said it was very low too. Harbor Master ramp was still usable. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the info. I may not try Aquilla since I am not familiar with the lake. Looks like Whitney or maybe Richland Chambers.

Thanks I will take a look. Going somewhere in the am, leaning toward Richland Chambers. Anybody have a report from the last couple of days?
