I prefer Gulp shrimp. I always seem to catch more reds on them.

I always start with a Doa rig and a Gulp rig. The reason for this sometimes the fish like alot of scent, sometimes they don't. I've had plenty of days when each bait has out-fished the other. So, Both. I have managed to have caught sow trout with both baits. A Tout tail comes in second and a Bass Assassin a close third.

Howabout neither? I've yet to see a day a hogie super minnow or sand eel didn't out fish either one of those two.

Gulp shrimp in new penny. I really grew to love this bait this past week in Galv. I was using in on a 1/4 oz jig head and catching trout, reds, flounder and anything else that will eat a shrimp when I ran out of live shrimp for my wife I just hooked it on hers under a cork and she caught just as many fish leting it float in the surf as the live shrimp also just put it on bottom on a C-rig and caught some rat Reds and sand trout that away.

I always used live or dead bait until my father-in-law turned me onto the Gulp shrimp. The first time I used them I caught ten reds, two specks and a stingray in about a hour. Even though it goes against my 40 years of fishing, ive started buying other artificials. I think I need help.

I use DOA CAL Shad Tail and 3" Shrimp almost exclusively at the coast when I'm tossing a Spook Jr.
I've thrown most of the popular soft plastics at one point or another and the truth is they all catch fish.

Color has more to do with catching fish than what type plastic your throwing.

I also have to say that I will literally always make sure I have Gulp New Penney with me for every fishing trip. I became believer when my buddies and I were catching some solid size reds on literally just about small 1" piece of the gulp shrimp after the baits kept getting torn up by all the fish we caught.

Yep, I keep an open mind and will try almost everything. If i can catch fish with it, it's in the tackle box. As i do have preferences, preferences don't matter when someone else is puttin fish in the box, and you don't have that lure.Initially, I've been put to school by others who fished the Doa and Gulp, and don't make that mistake anymore of not having any with me.

Here's a link to a place that's selling the big bucket of Gulp Alive squid in new penny for $10 (plus shipping). http://www.overstockbait.com/Berkley_Gulp_p/gaqsq3.htm Normally it's $35+. I know squid aren't shrimp, but I've seen trout and other fish eat half of a new penny shrimp apparently just because it was the right color. I'm betting these squid have the same effect.

Have you ordered from them before? How's their shipping times? I'm thought about trying that gulp out, maybe the HOGY.
