As I was passing thru OKC last nite I was talking to the Mrs as she was sitting on front porch. She asked me is too hot to even fish at nite. I said that depends.

That depends on what? Kinda left us hangin here.

On who or what your fishing for and how well they are biting and your age, teens and 20's no problem, 30's and 40's you feel it, 50's and up may be too hot.

Well that sums it up for me.

2 years ago in july, i fished in nasworthy during a full moon at night. air temp at midnight was still 92, but water temps were still in the mid 90s. i was in an aluminium john boat and we could feel the thing heating up, like the lake was slowly cooking us.

Agreed. In my 20's I spent more time in Iraq and Africa than I did in the states. Our current temps would be a cold front there, I remember standing in front of the mess tent in East Africa once and looking at the thermometer in the shade and it said 138. Now in my mid 30's, I don't think I'm gonna die or anything when it hits 110 but I sure don't want to stay out there too long.

Daytime and Overnight heat can be Deadly, Your body still doesnt cool off with this heatwave we are having. It is too Dangerouse to be even outside for 20 minutes. Im going to play it safe and wait till this heat wave passes by.

It's not bad from 5:30 to 9:30am.

I don't know that it's THAT bad, I work in it every day from 6am til 3-9 (depends on my work load) and I haven't died yet.

Granted, someone who's used to staying indoors all day, I could see it being pretty rough but those of us who are used to the elements, it's just more of an inconvenience.

Time to clean reels, clean out the boat and fix all of the stuff that needs it. Fall is coming......

I don't think its ever to hot to fish at night, it cools off considerably at night.

Yup, out in it too, 5 days, 48/50 hrs a week, in a Big Brown Oven ...u just take the proper precautions (hydrate, eat right, etc..), even moreso, the older u get....still seems to be a lot of people fishing thru the day, on the Fork, Falcon...other lakes as well...just be smart..

Last night was too hot to fish at night I can tell you for a fact. Zero wind and still sweating buckets at 10:30 pm. Water temp 95.

Yes it was....I got my feel for awhile.

Low water levels make it trickier than usual to run at night, to boot...that is some warm bath water, Big10..
