Headed to S. Padre and need some pointers on where to fish for reds and specks. Also going to do some surf fishing for whatever bites. Im a bass fisherman with little bay/surf experience so any help is greatly appreciated. Going out 2 days with a guide but i will have 3 days on my own.

I was down there this past week and did great wade fishing across the street from the Port Isabel High School. There is a drop off there that I fished using live mullet. We caught a couple of reds and trout, but one trout was just over 28 inches. I've also used gulp there and had some success.
