I don't always catch fish, but when I do, I prefer Dos Hybrids

I really need to get FF for my kayak. I even have a convenient battery holder built in from the factory.

Thanks for the links Bass Fro!!

Another question, I was looking at paddles. Academy in Mckinney has the Carlisle blue paddle on sale for $49. Most places I see it for $69. Is this a good paddle? I have a Marine Raider, but I was thinking I would use it as a spare.

The paddle for $49 is the same as the $69 except it's got a metal shaft I stead of fiberglass. I have the fiber glass one and it works great. Plus the orange/yellow is very visable

I have the fiberglass one as well with blus paddle ends. If iIhad to do over again i would get orange or yellow, since they are easier for everyone else to see me if i wave it in the air. The paddle works good for me.

I got a small 12v from bateries +

It was much smaller than the deer feeder ones that academy has

Alright, I got the 8 AA battery pack and connectors. I am going to use velcro inside the yak to hold the pack in place. Wish me luck on the install!!!

Don't know what kind of FF you have, but if it has a color display the AAs ain't gonna last long enough. I tried it with mine and ended up going back to the deer feeder. Goes in a 10 liter dry bag and wedges between the footwells. Loading, unloading, the occasional slide and drop off the tailgate, it stays put this way. If there's enough water in your hull to get into a dry bag with the top rolled up around the cable, then you have some other issues to deal with far beyond your battery malfunctioning.

No, I went cheap on the fishfinder. I have no need for anything fancy. Just want to know my depth, basic bottom structure and baitfish.

No maiden voyage yet. My girls soccer and basketball career has kept me busy. She is only 8 so I know it will get worst. Been on plenty of kayak like this one and spoken to many Pescador owners. No complaints about stability thus far. I was actually very pleased with the weight too.
