My dad wants to go take a guys weekend away and would really like to go to Fork. I usually go out there and get a room and fish for the weekend from time to time, but with all the theft talk, I have not done that. I have not seen anything posted in a while on any theft, so I was just looking for updates. Cameron, have you heard anything at Fork Marina?

Dang, man I hate to hear that. I always enjoyed going and just relaxing knowing I didn't have to drive home each night.

Sorry to hear about everyone getting broke into.

What about up at Sulfer Springs, heard anything up there.

No Fork for me!

Too many East Texas crack-pipe thieves out there, and little to no enforcement or surveillance.

Say goodbye to the spare tire on your trailer!

Shame!!! barf

I didn't even think about the spare tire. Guess I better get a chain on it.

Our RV Park down the Highway from The Minnow Bucket was hit last sunday night the 8th. mad

The Legend Bass Tournament is next weekend. All the lake needs to be on high alert. They will catch these guys. smile

We think they are walking in because we found a G-Loomus rod and reel drop about 30 feet from the boat and it looks like he just drop it and ran. Not sure. Our whole park knows now and will be on the look out.

Serveral boats were uncovered and the equipment removed. Some boats had the straps cut.

Would love to see these guys caught by the boat owners some night and justice issued promptly...strip them of all their clothes, welt them up a little bit with a 7-foot rod, then turn them loose after reporting sex perverts being seen in the area to the cops... laugh

Not true. Unless each rod & reel is mark the DA can't do anything. They have to prove it was stolen. They will dump the mark ones. If you mark your equipment, hide the markings.

Honestly I have been keeping an eye on the place till 3am or so fishing nearby and we have had plenty of tent campers...we didn't get hit the last 2 waves of thefts so ?

Not to say it can't happen, but if anyone was going to try something they would have to have some balls.

Question: If I'm at say one of the lake motels and caught someone in my boat digging through my rod locker, can I shoot him? Or would I be charged. Just trying to find out my rights away from home. The boat is not home but it's still my property.

My understanding or the law is if you suspect someone stealing your property you have by any means other than leathal to detain the theives. I use a baseball bat.

Stayed at Axton's Two weekends ago. Had about 150 people/80-90 boats in small tournament. No one stated that anything had been stolen. We took everything out of ours and placed in our room at night. Can't wait for another trip.

Only if you are in fear of your life. Thieft of property is not a defense for shooting anyone.
