Fred D. from DFF was up in Boston,ma. on business and arranged for Jack to come and Ty at Richardson Convention Center for DFF about 5 years ago.. They videoed his tying and presention. He said that if all the rivers and oceans dried up he would still ty flies.I did not know the meaning of this statement then, I do now. Got him to sign my book Art of the trout along with Dave Whitlock.

Does anyone else have problems with line spin with gurglers? It only happens on certain flies and I notice if I took my forceps and cut the squared edges of the lip it would stop spinning but not "gurgle" as well.

I recently started tying VIP popper and love those flies, I can tie one in about 5 mins and don't have any problems with line spin and they give the same "gurgle" presentation.

If you haven't taken a look at the Hell's Bay Hopper, it's a gugler-inspired fly that rides hook point up. I lashed a couple together and they've worked well for me the few times I've used them.

fun flies texraid

BUT I was hoping to elicit a good lead on great gurgular sales,
the thinking being, with this group, the quickest way to a forum's answer was by not asking the exact question.

Must be the heat, as you fellas most all gone docile.

This, this surprises me.
