Call for volunteers. Several of the members of the Bluegill/Sunfish forum have expressed interest in setting up a blog devoted to sunfishing. I have volunteered to chair the blog if we can get the required number of contributors. Highcountry has volunteered his expertise and server space. I need a commitment to write a 500-word piece on some aspect of sunfishing each month for a year. We need 15 volunteers. I will take one slot. If you take one we will need only 13 more. Each writer will have a specific day of the month to post his article. It will stay up for two days. If he cannot post in a month he and I will round up a volunteer to substitute. For an example of the type of thing we envision take a look at my wife's blog. Obviously it is aimed at the ladies but you will get the idea. I will need the real name, personal email and phone number of each volunteer. Obviously, the information will be held in confidence. Lilburn

I think this a super Idea and I really hope it takes off. Glad to see an angler such as yourself taking the lead on this. Everyone who is posting on this section has had some very good posts and had offered some very good pointers on how to catch Sunnies along with many other topics on Gills and Sunfish. You will not find a better bunch of anglers. I am sure you will get some super anglers who will write some super stories.

The willingness everyone on here has to help eachother out and give compliments is just amazing and creates an awesome environment. It's nice to know that whatever you post on this section won't be judged or bring smart arse comments and that you'll be encouraged and welcomed. As for myself I have become hooked on sunfish fishing, all thanks to you guys I hope this thing takes off and makes other anglers aware of the simplicity and fun that can be had with the sport

Responded to the pm, but figure I should go ahead and say it here too.
Count me in!
Even in january I could at least come up with an old story about catching sunfish when I was a kid...

We still need about 10 more to make this work. Please let me know if you are interested. I estimate it will only take 2-4 hours per month for each blogger. Do not worry if you do not have experience. And lots of topics will occur to you as we go forward.

It was my idea, ask "Smithaven" but I'm not sure what to write about????? See My Idea I've always been into catching, well you know Bigger fish, however 1 day on Lake Austin with my flyrod & my yak, I caught this hugh longear, he fought harder than many big bass I've caught & well. That plus reading all you guys posts has really gotten me very interested in this as a full time pursuit.
I am kind of wondering why there are no sites, or blogs dedicated specifically to Sunfish, Anyone?????? From the "Check This Out" post from Friday ot Saturday

From the "Check This Out" post from Friday or Saturday Roofish came up with a really great idea and very kindly allowed me to run with it since I am retired and have the time. Thanks Roofish! As to what to write about, there are endless topics. Your favorite tackle, and how you rig it. A discussion of the best baits. A description of your latest fishing trip in somewhat more detail than just a forum report. A comparison of your favorite lakes. And on and on. As soon as we get a few more on board we will start organizing this baby.

You can still share some past adventures and take some nice scenery pictures of some lakes, creeks, or even some ponds and rivers. You can also write about tackle and other related Sunfish interest. The main thing is your heart and desire is in it and that is all that matters. You have a super idea going. Good job. Just my

Hey,
I'm fairly new to the forum and very new to the Sunfish/bluegill section but fly fish for these guys at least once a week. Just don't post much... Guess I should start to post pics though as i enjoy looking at others... Whats a good site, Flickr?
Have had tremendous success in creeks, lakes, and ponds and would be happy to share my experiences. topwater bugs, nymphs, clousers...
Never done something like this but willing to give it a try. If enough people commit, count me in to share sunfish on a fly.
Don't worry about the mule, just load the cart

+1 for photobucket.
Put me down for an article. I've never done anything of this sort but I'm willing to give it a try. What's the worse that can happen? Maybe I won't be asked to contribute again...lol?
Keep me posted....
