If you had the choice which of the following would you choose?

1. Honda 4 stroke 115 on an 18 Foot Deep V boat ... motor comes with 5 year warrantee.

0r

2. Mercury 150 XPS 2 stroke on same boat... motor has factory 3 year warrantee.
...
My usage would be normal fishing duties on all DFW and surrounding lakes as well as some family fun...Tubing etc.

You pick
single choice
Honda 115 4 stroke (77%, 41 Votes)
Mercury XPS 150 2 stroke (23%, 12 Votes)
Total Votes: 53

Honda...get 4-stroke...and longer warranty. I've got a 2003 Honday 130 4-stroke on an 18.5' Alumacraft Deep v, and love this motor.

Boat is now a WiFi hot spot
ask for access code if you're nearby

Just curious why you ruled out Yamahah 115 hp 4 stroke? Everything I hear says that they have much better service in the DFW area, at least. That's the way I'd go if given a choice.

Hard to beat a 'Zuk.

My favorite 4 strokes are
1. Suzuki- cheaper, more parts, GREAT fuel economy, DFW has shops that will service them.
2. Honda- Quietest motor out there, lighter, BEST fuel economy, parts and service is a bear though.
3. Yamaha- Good motor, tons of parts and service everywhere boats are used.
4. Johnson- Same motor as Suzuki, bigger price tag

I would say to get the 4 stroke, hand down. I have a Suzuki and I think it's the best motor I've ever owned.

Honda makes a top notch product. I have a honda atv that is over 20yrs old and a mc that is 17yrs and I love them both. When I get a new motor or boat they will be at the top of my list.
