Headed out early Friday morning to RayBob to see if and what the crappie are doing.

Looking to hit some core piles. Any suggestions?

Thanks

David,

Take a lot of minnows. You will have to work thru a lot of dinks to get some keepers.

I would fish the timber 18'-24' and move from tree to tree with minners. Good luck. Stay thirsty!

Dave if you are putting in at Pond Creek you can get your minnows at the Snap Shop at 455 and 35 in Sanger without going to the Dam. That is if you come up 35.

Yes, and they have awesome breakfast sandwiches there and will usually give you more minnows than you ask for. Guy showed me that spot a couple years ago but the real reason he goes there is because his girlfriend (in his mind) works there. nuts

Let me know how it goes!! We got a trip planned Sunday morning out there. We went about 2 weeks ago and started with 15 dozen minnows and ended up buying 5 dozen more!! Ended up with about 52 keepers but DANG it sure is alot more expensive than jig fishing!!

20 dozen = 240 minners probably given a few more than that, 52 keepers...1 in 5 was a keeper. Well you were constantly catching, congrats on a good day

Can someone explain how the Feds count recreational Red Snapper catch?

that's assuming 1 minnow =1 fish. earlier in the year, i was catching 3-4 per minnow. recently, it is more like 3 per dink. let me know when the former starts back up. my gf at the downtown pp bait shop may think i don't like her anymore.
