Got my 170 mounted on the hummingbird Scotty mount. I will putty in the the transducer and wire it tomorrow night. Only so much I can handle in a 110 degree garage!

Oh also made some scupper plugs. I was tired of getting my gear wet in the back.

Not not yet. I have the foam glued into position. But need too putty in the transducer with electrical putty. I will post some pictures of that also.

Totally agree! I got a rubber plug to run the wires through. but wish there was a cleaner way to do it. Hat to put a 9/16" hole in the kayak

Yeah I have seen a lot of that. But I wanted it to look a little better than that. I am not able to go down through the scotty mount where it would be concealed.I will have to drill the hole right behind the mount.

Like such

Alright the transducer is installed! Really hope this putty works! If it does, this is defiantly the way to attach your transducer to the yak. Super easy!

is the foam glued to the inside of the hull and the transducer inserted in it with the putty holding it in there?

Basically my question is, Is there silicone under the transducer or only under the foam with the putty holding the transducer down firmly?

Silicone just under the foam.

I siliconed the foam in and let it cure. Then I cleaned out any silicone that squeezed out where the transducer would sit. Laid down a good base of putty and pushed the transducer in it. then topped it off with putty to help hold it place even more. It probably would have stayed with just the bottom layer of putty. It's pretty tacky.
