less people to complain at benbrook. the poor folks are bridgeport are just used to it now, i think. they get a sad deal out there! I remember 15 years ago when the lake would stay up all year long! chart pepper salty craws, and blue fleck power worms!! man I miss those days!

i wish everyone would complain so they would leave it constant. dad and I quit putting out brushpiles years ago because of the fluctuating water level. he's caught numerous 9 pounders out of the lake since it was open. i have a pic of him holding two 9-pounders one night, I was 3 years old. i dont remember, but do have the pics. He was in his old blue/white skeeter metro(i believe).

Ramp #2 is the only one open. It's the first one past benbrook marina once you enter the gate @ Dutch Branch. It may only have a week or 10 days left. Backed the trailer off the end of the ramp and still needed a good 2 ft to float the boat. Buddy says the front bumper was almost 20 feet from waters edge and motor was parallel with the no wake buoy. Guy in front of us unhooked his jet ski trailer from his Kia and walked it out atleast 5 more feet. Was kinda hoping he forgot to unstrap it and it floated away!

Actually there is a ramp that is still usable at Benbrook lake when the water gets this low and lower. It's off Baja Beach near the dam. You can only get to it by buying the a key from the city of Benbrook. Problem is the COE and Park Rangers will not allow it to be used and is only for their emergency use only. Three years ago The Marina had an arrangement for a brief period that allowed us to launch there. I put in there about 6 times before the COE changed their minds. When the marina was completely dry there was still about 10' of water there. It's a really good ramp too. Too bad they wouldn't allow it to be used under these circumstances again.
Bob I appreciate the TFF.

I wish the marina could move to the dam area at the east point of Baja Beach......water depth, but I guess the wind would make hurricane conditions most of the time and keep things torn up.

I was out there tonight and there were quite a few boats out there...so unless they are launching from the bank then they have to be using the mustang ramp.

Im guessing Mustang is still good if there are that many boats out there and maybe even Holiday(?).Think level had to get a little lower last time to close these.Somebody should know for sure.May be Monday before I can get out there.Probubly be so many trotlines out of the water itll look like its fenced off.

The water problem is never gonna get better unless we build new lakes. Too many people, too much wasted water, not enough money. No real long term solution will work. Who ever was behind this idea that humans could live on this rock was playing a joke on us.

when I was out there a lot of boats I saw were people at the actual marina. I havn't been back down, did they trailer all the folks at the marina or just move em out further?

The thing I don't understand is why they're just now talking about watering restrictions, they should have have been restricting water usage when we went a few weeks without rain in this Texas heat.
