Flat,I can fully understand your dilemma. sometimes fishing is a private, personal, zen-chi kind of thing and sometimes it's a team sport, and somtimes it's a ****ing free-for-all! Whether or not you're in the company of anglers or idiots in your situation would be evident in a matter of minutes. THEN make a descision on a course of action. If blatant stupidity or disregard is the deal, then fine. That's why J.P & crew put together this forum; so we could share great experiences and vent about the ***holes. Otherwise, I'm with everyone else in that there's plenty of bay, plenty of fish. Get up and split if the situation starts to suck. After fishing the sandies @ lake lewisville for a couple years now, I've tolerated Morons driving jetski's right thru schools of surfacing fish that we were clearly working LOTS OF TIMES and have had to hold my tongue until I come back here. Besides, like Piepuncher said, Being able to share a great moment of time w/ another couple of anglers you've never met is pretty cool. thank God for the T.F.F.!!!!

i'm with piepuncher on this...i've never had a problem and i don't mind sharing the flats in the bay with everyone else. and the guys that i fish with when i wade, we're never the first out there. if they move up on a school i'm fishing, so what? then 2 people could possibly leave happy, assuming you catch a few. is it wrong to spread a bit of happiness around to a few strangers that happen to be fishing where you are?

its great to share but most people dont know how they run up in thier boats or make so much noise they drive the fish away.if everyone could share fishing would be nice. but idiots racing on shorelines think waders are a slolam course!!!!

I have shared your experience flatmajic and I must say I am with you on this. I don't expect to have an area to myself but there is the right way to approach an area and burning the shoreline to run up into a cut that is already being fished, killing the motor as the craft is beached casting distance from me, jumping out casting 10 times, catching nothing (big suprise) and then leaving is not fishing a spot. I think Lucky13 has the right attitude, and I don't think it is flat who doesn't understand that water must be shared, it is the people who run up on you that need to understand this and be more considerate. I don't expect everyone to be willing to jump out of their boat and walk a few hundred yards just to fish a spot but I do expect that it would occur to those who don't I did it for a reason and try and be as stealth as possible.

I've been keeping up with this one and just thought I would add something. We had a great trip this weekend to Rockport, but at least 4-5 different times out in the open bay once when we were fishing a drop off away from San Jose shoreline and the rest of the time when we were around the gas wells we had people come flying by. I know I don't own the bay but you would think out in the open people would stay a little further away. Even if I'm approaching a well that there isn't even anyone on I idle in from about 100yds. Anyway just my two cents. One other thing this board is great, just to hear the different reports helps the time between being there and being home.

flatmajic is right. Anyone who runs up on a wade fisherman is a jerk. Look at it this way. A motorist would be ticketed and arrested if he drove onto a sidewalk filled with pedestrians. In the rules of the rode pedestrians have the right away. This should be the same for the water. Not only can this be dangerous but it scares the fish away. Big trout do not like roaring motors. Bozo would not understand this seeing that he probably fishes the boat infested motor oiled waters of galveston.

No, Bozo just has tons of sorry comments and never anything nice to say! I dont think it has to do with where he fishes, his .02 is always rude and is given without any thought process behind it. No matter where we go fishing, there will always be that rude person that will come flying right over where u r fishing. The only way to get away from it, is to hit up a private lake, pond or a deep back bay where boats really have to work to get to. Polar, it is nice to see the reports on here about the coast! It makes the time between trips not seem so long!

Thanks Pie. We just got back Tuesday and we go again next Friday. We moved from Cedar Park to our ranch last Sept. so I can be in Rockport in a little over 2 hours now. Were trying to make up for lost time.
