I have 2 of the Vendettas, they're o.k., but I agree I don't like the aluminum reel seat screw or the aluminum butt on the handle. I stepped on one of them and now it is out of round, a soft grip by the reel and a soft butt is easier on you.

That aluminum reel seat screw doesn't seem to luck up any better than the regular ones either. I honestly think it was more for show.

I agree with slodsm. Bought a 6'9" mh. Fished with it 1time. It just didnt feel right to me at all. Took it back and traded for a veritas. The veritas feels good in my hand, and feels balanced. It is lighter weight too. Havnt tried it yet, so i guess ill see what i think.

I traded a skeet for a vendetta, and boy, was it a mistake! It cost me three good fish. I set the hook 3 times and all three times, the reel came off. At first I thought I had not screwed it correctly. After cheching it again, I realized it was the rod and not an error on my part.

Veritas and Vendettas are solid rods, with any rods in that price range, you are going to have issues with breaking, we have all heard the same story about Skeet's, Carrot Stix, the H20s, etc.
I haven't any porblems with them, but if I do, I will take it right back to Academy.

That hasn't happened on my vendettas but I had it happen a couple of months ago on a castaway go2. The look on my face was probably priceless.

I have a heavy vendetta and have used it for dropping grass with 1 1/4 ounce t-rig and have horsed some good ones out with no problems.

I broke two Vendetta rods. Both were my fault. Once I had a big fish under a log and put the rod down under the water and was trying to pull the fish out under it. It broke. The other time we won't talk about. Abu replaced them for free under their 3 year warranty.
However, I like the Abu Veritas better. Much better. I have two Veritas 6'9" MH and they are great versatile rods and very sensitive.

I have three Vendettas I bought about a year ago w/ Revo SX's mounted. No problems, so far.
