Took Adam out tonight to try and put him on the Hybrids again but he kept complaining of a stomach ache and spent the first half of the evening laying on the back of the boat...only to eventually discover that the horrendous stomach pain was nothing but a big burp! I forget sometimes how tough and scary it must be experiencing uncomfortable things for the first time. Of course my ill son in now way slowed down super dad over hear. In between telling him to tough it out I managed to catch 4 Hybrids this evening in my new SECRET HOLE...(Dont even start I know...no secrets on HUBBARD!!) The last Hybrid I caught was a 5 1/2 that required a little quick net work to prevent losing him at the boat. After getting the fish aboard I couldnt find my scale that I had used multiple times that day only to look up and see that apparently it had been in the net before I dipped the Hybie and was now floating off into the sunset!! Thank God for me I was not Tom Hanks in the middle of the Ocean and Adam was more than happy to dive in and go after the scale (I wasnt even aware that RAPALA's FLOAT) Finally at the end of the night we stumbled on to some schooling action but no sooner did I bomb my lure toward to turbulent water but the wind gusted up out of nowhere and we ran off the lake before the rollers could build up. Here's the Hybrids from today. All but one unfortunate fish was CPR'D all fish CAUGHT ON MOE'S SLAB A PALOOZA's

Nice catch raptrap. I wish my dad woulda started me fishin at a young age. And do you only use that fluorocarbon or do you change out your line or what. I have braid and mono. I don't really know what's better besides braid is strong as heck.

I only us fluoro because I bought a bunch when I was bass fishing and just havent used it up yet. I am not sure what I will do when I run out. I dont know that its worth the money for white/hybrid fishing. I use to use P-Line CX Premium and I might go back to that but it does stretch quite a bit! The good part about White/hybrid fishing is that I rarely change lures so a spool of line lasts a lot longer than it did when I was bass fishing and changing lures and breaking off snags constantly!!

rap the reason i asked was i use power pro braided line on most of my rods mainly because i got tired of losing my slabs when i would get hung up on something on bottom and usually i can straighten the hook out a little and get my slab back .... and also thinking that when i do finally hook into that big hybrid hopefully it wont break my line .... but my big hybrid hopes aren't producing fish .... not sure if its technique or maybe they can see my braided line or what

I have been thinking about going to braid. Im kinda like Mike, I still have other fluorocarbon left over from my Black Bass days. I had some braid one time, it slipped on my spool so I threw it away. At the time I didnt know how to fix it. While bringing in some of those T-wok giants yesterday, I'm thinking braid again. Thats usually when I think about old line, bad knots and "I shoulda re-tied after that last fish".

By the way,,NICE fish Mike!!!!! You need to take a day off and hit T-wok one week day morning.

Nice fish and good information that I can use as I'm learning how to fish for SB/HB.

If u go to braid you might consider a 20# flouro leader. IMHO braid scares the fish.
