Hot Temps and Hot action on Whitney and Big fish are on the prowl with limits coming quick. With the hot water temps and thermocline I have made the switch to downrigging and it is paying off BIG! You can still catch fish on live bait and some quick limits coming early on shad as well. But I don't have to get up at 2 and go catch bait , I put out the Performance Shade top by www.canvasusa.com and get under the shade tree , drop down the bricks behind the boat and catch big fish ! We where catching them 4 at a time yesterday working ledges and edges. If you want to learn how I use downriggers and catch big fish give me a shout and come on down. Here are a couple of pics from this weekend.

I just want to add one thing. Thanks to Lowrance Pro-staffer Jason for his assistance with my HDS7 prob. My GPS on my unit went down a few months ago and I didn't have a spare. To make a long story short everyone I talked to at Lowrance from Jason, to customer service to management was caring and diligent in helping me get my unit back up and running. I use my GPS when downrigging for Stripers especially to help me maintain a course and marks schools, ledges, edges etc. as you can see by my post it works! Mine was down and instead of having to send in my unit and wait (means no fishing and no paycheck) they sent me a replacement unit and then I sent mine in. It is great to do business with a company that cares and stands behind there product 110%. Thanks to Jason and Lowrance for everything! If your ever down Whitney way look me up and we'll go rip some lips!

Would love to know how you are setting up your down rigger. I'm going to whitney this week and would love to catch some striper.

Thanks everyone, that first one fooled me, thought it was bigger than it actually was. Still a respectable 15.28 LB fish. Wasn't real long but had a heck of a girth. Caught another limit this morning to 10 Lbs. I won't give away my holes over the net I'll just say think out of the box. The water temp is hot and there is a thermocline, big stripers like structure. Read this and add 2 key pieces of info together and that is where and what I'm looking for. That is the beginning of the equation anyway.
