The fish has the length to go Ten but not the body. Like the guy said above. When you do finally get your Ten Pounder you want to make sure you get an exact weight. I know there are a lot of "ten pounders" caught every week around here but TRUE ten pounders are few and far between, no matter what lake you are on with maybe an exception of one or two very exclusive private lakes.
With that said, good fish on ultra light tackle. Great job!

I was setting on a brush (core pile) a week ago crappie fishing on RayBob. We were catching dinks when I had a very large bass "DD" eat my 6" crappie I was reeling in. It hit and the battle was on. It got to the surface and cuaghed it up and slowly swam away. There are large bass still at RayBob. Here is one I boated this past spring on a white spinner bait. David @ shut-up-and-fish

I had one in June that was 25 inches and went 6.13. Had another in 2006 that was 25 1/2 and went 7.13. Some of those Roberts fish get long and light. There are some that are stacked in Roberts like Dannie Goldens recent 10+ fish. Now that fish had some shoulders!

That's a good fish any day, especially on that tackle. But not a DD.
As a reference, the fish in my sig came from Ray Rob and was just shy of 10#.

I wish I could bust the 10 pound mark on Roberts. I have never caught a fish over 7 somehting until the other day out there and I had a 9.20 that I would have swore was a DD before I put it on the scales. I have only heard a handful of true 10+ pounders coming out of that lake in the last few years.
Anyways great fish.... no matter what it weighed!
