Three of us are headed down from Round Rock, Georgetown, Leander this coming Tuesday/Wednesday to fish out of a 19.5' Kenner. We will be staying at the Super 8, and lauching at Conn Brown.

Does anyone have any recent experience or advice for this area? We are loaded with Norton Sand Eels, and Berkly Gulp Shrimp,(new Penny).

Seeking Reds, Trout, Flounder, and Blacktips(at night).

Thanks,
Lowell Mayes juggle

Sorry to jump into your thread, cuz I have not fished that area. If the jetties are holding fish like Galveston, you can get into reds and blacktips for sure.
My real reason for jumping in is I wondered which Kenner you have. I have had my Vision 1902 for almost a year now and don't think I could have picked a better one. Handles 2' to 4' pretty well, and is a fishing machine.
Nice to see another Kenner owner, seems like there arn't too many of us.

I told my "X" she was fat...she said she was "big boned", told her I had never seen a fat skeleton...hence..my "X". Now, I fish, therefore I eat.

i would try in front of traylor island

look for the cuts and drift into the shoreline throwing margarit/chart or red/white sand eels, jr.

also a gulp shrimp under a popping cork will work

expect to catch lots of little ones with an ocassional keeper

dont overlook grass flats and drop offs in the ICW between conn brown and cove harbor

good luck

Hey Centerdriver, I couldn't resist jumping in. I've got a V186 and I must say that I like it more every time that I take it out. It looks like they have upscaled the V186 and now call it a V190 with some new features and fancier paint.

I'm adding some things to mine. I put an access door from the front of the center console. Next will be a waterproof door on the front deck (its a real pain bending down and looking into the front storage thru that vertical hatch, and finally I'd like to do something clever with that back casting platform to make it more useful under there.

I'm a POC junkie myself and I see lots of Kenners down there.

Lowbass, I'm also in Georgetown, do you attend any of the CCA meetings in Austin or Georgetown. If so I'll look for you.

With this cold front the bass action should be picking up soon on Travis if you can get the boat on there. Is Lake Georgetown still ok to launch?

have fun
Don
