Probably Keystone Light..... there are going to be alot of tubers getting in your way... especially on the Comal. The Guadalupe is at minimal release from the dam and above Canyon Lake the river has stopped flowing due to the lack of rain. I was out on Canyon Lake yesterday for 8 hours and only caught 4 stupid fish. Guess they felt sorry for me.

light gear and a roostertail will usually work! I like the 1/8th oz size because it catches bass and sunfish big enough to get the hooks in their mouth. I also flatten the barbs cause those treble hooks really get stuck bad!

I caught a bunch of Gualdalupes in the river last week up around Comfort with a shakey head with a watermelon zoom trick worm. A few went over 2 lbs.

used to do allright at rockin r when i worked there as a kid. try a 4 in berkley chigger craw in watermelon something with a splitshot about a foot above the hook. deadly.
better start early, or at least bring some cold ones like Goatboy said.

Personally, I think you will be lucky to have your bait hit thye water without hooking a tourist fish. It will be wall to wall floaters, literally, especially on the comal. Good luck

I thought I heard the Guadalupe wasn't opened to tubers at the moment due to the minimal release from Canyon... I may be wrong, but I wouldn't waste my time going to Guadalupe. San Marcos River is doing good though.

If you have access to a canoe or kayak, you can put in at Cypress Bend Park on the Guad., and paddle downstream past where the Guad. and Comal come together. There is a dam just downstream from there, and I have caught numerous bass and panfish there. Without a kayak or canoe, you can fish about 200 yards of bank at Cypress Bend. Those fish get the hell beat out of them, so hide behind the cypress trees while fishing there, they have good eyesight. as stated above, throw rooster tails, I have had good luck on the gray/ black with the silver blade in 1/16 oz. size.

I was just there today. Launched my Kayak under the I35 bridge, and paddled upstream (portaged around that dam) Managed a couple of undersized bass, and a really big (9+") bluegill. All caught on small crappie spinner. Mostly just hanging out with the wife who tagged along.
