Small sand trout and speckled trout were caught using a variety of Fish Bites, live shrimp, and fresh dead shrimp under Mansfield Maulers. The largest spec caught was 13"; there were three at this size. A Group of people the next light over caught a 39" black drum on crab fishing off the bottom, it was a beauty. Of course the ever present Hard Head was caught on cut bait, squid, and fresh dead shrimp fishing off the bottom. A few small Gafftop were caught on fresh dead shrimp fishing off the bottom, a whole mess of bait fish using fresh dead shrimp/Fish Bites and last but not least was one ugly oyster fish. We had some really nice hits on crab, the group on the next light over was nice enough to share, but were unable to make any hook ups. Even though I didn't get to fish as much as I wanted or catch anything keep able, it was worth it to see the excitement on my girlfriends families faces when catching fish. Especially her mother and nephew...it was there first, and definitely not there last, saltwater fishing trip.
