A good tip is to put a treble hook near the cork just in case a big fish goes after the cork. I actually caught an 8 pound trout on a popping cork, not the lure I had 28" below the cork.

The water is still a little cool but doesn't take long to get use to it.. The guy I was wading beside only caught one little red and that was the only fish I saw worth a darn.. Good luck next weekend Im planing a trip back in a couple of weeks keep me informed..

Hey Tig55, I have never heard of such, you mean the fish will actually bite the cork too, sounds crazy but i heard of other things that make you go hmmm. But if true, I WILL take you advice into consideration.

hey guys just so you know we do have 6 live bait tanks up and running 1/2 the bait room is finished
we have 3 shrimp boats to keep the live shrimp comming when Txhook'em was their we only had 2 tanks running and we have been closing around dark because their is no lights in the bait room yet but and stingaree marina has a good supply of live shrimp because i am married to one great commerical fisherman that puts in 75 0/0 of their live shrimp he unloads their first than docks his boat and hauls shrimp to me by trailer
stingaree is open from daylight till dark pretty much the same as us

and my husband as a commerical fisherman keeps working as long as your buying live and dead shrimp
so get that bait go fishing and keep that line tight

Where, does matter to a lot of us. I traded with the old man till he sold to the bakers, traded with the Bakers any time they had bait and really glad to hear your back on your feet there now.It does make a difference when you get to know some one that far away who will take the time from a very busy schedule to let us know what going on. Looking forward to our trip and stay with ya;ll in July, hope to get down there next week or so to feel the salt and see how the place looks with the roof complete.

it turn out to be a bigger job than they thought so its taken longer than we wanted it too, but it going be worth it in the end, I think ill throw a ribbon cutting party when it does get finished

Chris saw on your website northendbaitandtackle that an 8.1 was caught you said that he caught it on the gulf side was wondering if he was wading the mouth of the pass also have you heard any reports for people fishing the surf are the trout there... Thanks

scott was fishing off the wall when he landed the 8 pounder alot of the guys that wade the mouth of the pass are hitting it everyday their has only been a couple of guys who have done any good most days they are drawing a blank it hasnt turn on their yet!
hopefuly you know about the current and if your not use to wading the mouth its not a wading area for anyone that doesnt already know how to wade it (its very dangerous)you can be washed thur the pass or down the beach before you know what hit ya

Hey trey, I' m just as curious as you are about them large specs too. I wonder if he caught them trout on the incoming or the outgoing tide. I might be heading out there this weekend as well as well as next weekend too. Maybe I'll see you out there Trey.

I was planning on going this weekend down there but with this storm coming through decided not to go I will be down there for sure next weekend..Trey

it was changing from out going to incoming and the tide was slacked when he landed the big one ! he caught a total of 8 within that hour the night fishing is on fire right now from 8 pm to around 10:30 pm you can limit out if your in the right spot scott got his from 5 am to 6 am
were not seeing a whole lot of action during the day. when the tides turn to a daytime out going tide that will change but as it is right now most of the day is incoming tides and the sea weed moves in and makes it hard to fish.
