You might already know this and if you do....just kick me in the butt now and get it over with. If you don't enjoy the tip!! laugh

Instead of using tubing to keep the trailer hook in place on your spinner/buzz baits....try this:

Dip just the eye of your trailer hook into the canned "liquid plastic" stuff they sell at home depot! You know the stuff...right? It's the stuff you can dip your pliers handles into in order to give them plastic/rubber grips!

Any color will work and you should only have to dip it once or twice at the most. NOT TOO THICK OF A COAT and be sure the eye is filled in with it.

Let it dry and WALLAHHAA! You don't have to screw with the tubing at all on your trip! laugh

Ok, party on

went to tennessee and bought them just that way. predone, after i got them home and pulled the out of the cpackage i figured that you could do it yourself. funny how you can find different items at walmart in other areas than you can find here.

Gofish24,

I agree! I love going into different tackle stores ALL OVER to search for little neat things here and there. It's neat how you can always tell what's in the local lakes by what's stocked on the shelves! laugh

I guess I have one question. Does this cause the hook to ride in a "fixed" position or does it still swing freely? I have tried trailer hooks both ways and believe that a "free-swinging" hook does a much better job and that's why I put on the surgical tubing AFTER I put the trailer hook on. I never put the tubing over the hook eye.

I put the trailer hook on first, then put a piece of tubing on.
