I dont fish the salt too much, when do the specs really start hitting good. Where are some good places to wade, and what should I use as far as artificial goes for specs and reds.

Specs and Reds have been hittin for a while now. Just find protected water from the wind and you will find some fish. Check out some of the reports at this link, you will find all of the info you need.

Anyone plan on doing any fishing this coming weekend? I'll be in Houston visiting family and in Tomball doing some hunting and I wouldn't mind doing some fishing.

Well guys as far as wading galveston goes you have a couple of good options...I have found that seawolfe park is very productive on the floundering...a 3 way swivel with a treble for live bait(ie shrimp or mud minnows) and a 1/4oz jighead with a white or green berkley gulp swim minnow. I actually catch more on the lure than the bait...reds and drum are there as well dead shrimp and cracked crab...now as for the trout things are still warming up..they are there but the peak is still to come...I prefer to fish sportsman's road off of 8 mile road to target the trout though...well hope this helps...sure hope to see more 30 inchers this year...good luck

Hey waist-deep, thanks for the info, always great to have a fellow fisherman share and passing the latest report with advice. We'll probably be heading out this weekend ourselves around Roll Over Pass and some wading out on the North side of the Ferry for flounder and specs. I tell will provide the latest report. Sure can't wait for the time change where we can have longer days for fishing. Good fishin and be safe! thumb

Hey you guys

I went to the Pass last weekend and I did poorly. Wading was a big disapointment. I came home with nada. I was told its too early for some good action and so I'm going to hold off for a bit, and make a trip back in a few weeks. Even the regulars were complaining about no action. I guess we're just all to anxious to get started for this season of some "reel" fishing fun! Keep me posted guys!
