stingray is a killer for bigger ones, also big croakers and skipjack are excelent, all cut bait. just be sure to use a fish to big to sucked down by a 10lb gafttop otherwise you will be catching those and drum befor sharks

Sand trout does make good shark bait. Here is a great list: stingray, large shad, horse mullet, spanish mackrel, croaker, skip jack, whole crab, whiting, squid, or just about anything that bleeds. I have had caught sharks on all of the baits that I have listed. I don't know if its legal but have also caught sharks on jack crevelle meat that my friend had caught. He said it was legal but Im not sure.

techsammy is right on with stingray...make sure the ray is alive and rig a treble hook through each wing and then let it do its thing. i've also found that fresh caught and cutup/bloodied ladyfish works wonders. sharks aren't exactly picky eaters, it's just that something bloody is going to entice them more than a frozen squid or the like. cheers

A wading fisherman with a great stringer of trout, flounder and redfish tied to his belt?

Oh wait...you said catch a shark...not shark catch you. My mistake...sorry. hammer

Hop on a surf board - tie a fresh steak on a string tied to your toe and dangle it over the edge - when he bites the steak just paddle your arms really fast until you taste sand. Then get up and do the one legged hop and drag.

Check out extremecoast.com Look and read the fishing reports for Gulf of Mexico. Almost everything you could want to know is written in there. Good Luck
