Taking wildlife on private property without the land owner�s consent is a Class A misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $4,000, confinement in jail up to one year or both. In addition, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will seek restitution for the two alligators, an amount likely to exceed $5,000.

I'm guessing there will be no jail time and pretty much the fines will be just pocket change to the hunter & guides. Let the bickering commence...

Do you know what could br the fine/punishment for taking the alligator in public waters as the lawyer stated? I bet the taking from private property without permission is the lesser of the two.

there is too much private land in texas. Seems like every sq inch is privately owned. Other states have a lot more public land.

This is the first "PM" I have ever received from bbop1111, If he called me out before I missed it.

I did call out Hersh not you BBop1111 . The reason I called him out was due to his adamant postion that I was doing a disservice to sportsman by saying what Levi the Lawyer did was wrong. And in the process of that he said I was wrong. Cannot have it both ways. It is OR it is not a disservice to sportsman not to support them.

I have made other contributions to this forum that should be less controversial and more productive.
