I have bought two pair of braided line sissors from Academy, and neither one really does a good job. What do ya'll use to cut braid?

Like everything else, there's good brands and bad brands.

I cant remember the names, but if you bought a pair that have the blunted ends, theyre not great as the blades arent flush with each other.

I also bought these that have pointed ends, which work well.

I was also recommended in getting "fly fishing" scissors or at least some good barber cutting scissors.

you have to get a good pair, there is one pair at Academy that doesnt cut good and I have a pair of them too.

I think the ones that are pointed are the best ones and pretty sure they cost about he same

Thanks, Billy

I have a pair of cluprit ones, and they seem to work pretty good. They dont cut the big mono/fluoro knots very well, but work great for braid.

Walmart has some multipurpose outdoor scissors in the camping section. Cheap and they work.

Leatherman makes a "micro-scissor" tool that is excellent. Just don't use the scissor for anything but cutting braid and they'll cut braid clean and smooth forever.

I use a little pair of Gerber scissors and they work great. But like stated above I only use them on braid. I use a pair of nail clippers for my flouro and mono.

I use a pair of stainless steel surgical scissors. If you know any EMTs they can point you where to get them. They are used for putting in stitched.

Great for Split Rings, changing hooks and the scissor portion is very sharp and I have had them for 4 or 5 years.
