Pflueger Contender G15 on a proangler rod. Nothing has beat them yet.

You bought a BCX... you bought a POS and got what you paid for.
Get a sweedish made abu and get your a good reel. I have also had good luck with pen 9's.

Whats a good reel for around 50 that is big with a bait runner and a spinning reel. I'm still trying to get used to open faced Cabelas Salt Striker.Good reel for the money.Slightly higher than 50 dollars.

ABU.ABU.ABU Swedish ONLY. I have been using the ABU 7000 if you want to cast a country mile. 8-10 Heavy rod small diameter line and a 5oz sinker. You will get tired of reeling them in.

Okuma Avenger is right in that price range. The 65's and 80's i have are 5 years old an dont have the bait runner. The Avenger or ABF now, is the newer design for that model.Still good reels. Salt Stikers are made by Okuma.
