How is the seaweed? It was very bad a couple weeks ago.

It wasn't very bad and the water was clear .

Thanks and the water update!! I use mirro lures every time I used cut bait HARDHEADS kill me.

The wind returned ( 17/18 )MPH bringing muddy water and seaweed .
Mullet were not there , the only fish I seen caught were hardheads,whiting ,croaker and puppy drum .

Wind has been a killer the past week!! I know its got to be bad there. I do good on Bull red in the surf on cut crab when the wind is blowing like this. But fighting the weed on your line is hole nouther thing.

Me and the boyfriend have been fishing RP for years. We've caught everything out there, hardtop, gafftop, red, flounder, croaker, trout, drum. Love it. We're heading out there early in the morning to hit up the tide. Hopefully we can squeeze in somewhere.

Just got back from the pass.Monday night under the lights was awesome!!!Caught a limit of trout to 22 inches and a limit of reds.This was after catching a cooler full of crabs before sundown.Stayed to fish one more night and it was the right decision.Tuesday night brought four limits of trout and 6 keeper reds.Almost all fish caught on live shrimp caught with cast net in the pass before dark.The shrimp were unbelievably thick in the pass and the gulf was as pretty as it gets.Would have liked to stay longer but had no more cooler space.Fish FRY Saturday!!!!BYOB Tight Lines to all.

Where's the rollover pass?

In Bolivar Peninsula,18 mile from ferry boat.
About 2 hour drive from SW Houston.

It's hit or miss out there but when it's good it's really good. I've seen some HUGE reds get pulled out from there.

When the tide is outgoing, you can wade out in the surf and catch trout where the channel opens up throwing coast hawks!

Sorry sir,maybe you don't now how to fish at Rollover Pass and when.

I was fishing at Rollover Pass many years but just with artificials and i have catching very nice fish(trout,flounder,red fish,black drum etc.)

Fishing slow ATM sitting I'n my truck waiting was slow last night too. I'll be here tell saterday. Wade fishing the surf was good to day limit of specks and a bunch or sand trout.

I'm going to rollover (Aug 13 and 14) as the tail end of a blue water trip out of Venice. Can you camp there? I have a truck tent that i thought I would take but wasn't sure if I can set it up at the pass or not. Thanks.
