Am new to the cast netting for shad. I've heard lots of Whitney guys go to aquilla for the shad. Where is a good spot to throw for them and how early in morning?
Do I need to get up in the creeks or by boat ramps/docks or what?

We have had the best results under a light right before daylight. Right by ramp from dock. Good luck!
enjoying fishing with family and friends

The old road bed that runs out from the ramp on the east side of the lake is a good spot early also. you can wade out knee deep for a long way.

Can I ask you guys, what is the best size of Shad for Whitney? Wanna catch a big fish .... You know the answer ... And the sandbass will leave your big baits alone !!! The best I've done lately there was with 3 1/2" - 5" ...
