I need some places to go in the Rockport/Corpus Area. I am going down this weekend and my boat backed out on me. don't want to fish from piers. Any help would be appreciated.

Red fish bay, which is located between rockport and corpus in Aransas Pass. You will find plenty of wade fishing spots in and around that area. I have caught most of my fish on the channel side on live shrimp under a poppin' cork. I have cught reds, specks, flounders, blackies you name it i have probably caught it in that channel. That channel is the main channel that leads out to the big water (the GULF)so it gives the fish a way in to the bays. Oh ya, Fin and Feather is a good palce to get bait. Real nice folks. Well good luck, GOD BLESS, and catch one for me.

Your friend in CHRIST,
BigBassDaddy.

RE02, you got a lot of places to wade from Rockport to CC. The Aransas ship channel that BBD mentions is a good spot. You got Steadmans flats and reef right behind the Fin and Feather bait stand. This is at the Morris & Cummings cut under 361 from A.P and P.A. Also got Portland shoreline, good with a N,NW or NE wind. You can go around to CC and fish the CC bay shoreline between the CC-NAS and CC-AM, got for trout maybe not as many fish but often good sized ones. On the other side of the road you got Oso Bay good wading along the channel from Shoreline Road. You can go and fish the Boat Hole area before the JFK Causeway on the north. Little hard to get to the water but with a S, SW or W wind it can do good. Also the other side of the JFK in Flour bluff can be good wading with the same wind directions. Not really easy to get to, but good flats fishing.
You got Bird Island down on PINS, you can fish the East flats of the Laguna right where the road turns to the right along the shore to the boat ramp. Lots of windsurfers though. You got Deadmans Hole up through the area of Fish Pass for wading along the backside of Mustang Island. Deadmans can be hard to get to so be careful. Got the back of Shamrock Cove on 361 from P.A. to Padre Isalnd, access is scross from the Sandpiper condo's. Fish pass getties and the surf can do well this time of the year. should be the spring run in the surf for various species along there. Rockport has Little Bay in the middle of town, Live Oak Peinsula before the Copano bridge, and Port Bay off of Copano Bay. Goose Island, and the north end of Copano Bay past bridge can do good.
A lot of it depends on the wind direction, and the type of wading you want to do. Steadmans will be muddier overall than say Portland shoreline, but you got to put the odds in your favor.
Hope this helps, if you need more specific info let us know.

Check this website. You should be able to find a good place to wade.
