Got my wheelchair lift installed, yeehah, me and 2 buddies(was only supposed to be one) are going out in the morning. Wife is night fishing on Athens with the Dallas Bass'n Gals, she is mad that my virgin run is gonna be with buddies, but hey, she already took it out once with a friend. women...

Just plan on cruising, not sure I'll go WOT yet, but we'll see. smile Want to play around with the FF's a little, just familiarize myself with the boat. Test livewells, basically just "push all the buttons".

So which would you go to for a fun morning.

Thanks y'all,

Went out with one friend, we went to the Zion rd ramp, took longer than I thought to gather everything, we got to the ramp about 8:30. It was pretty empty, only about 6 trailers parked and only a couple came in while we setup.

The lift system worked great, I think some more trussing is needed though, my fat butt made it bow a little. smile This is something that will get better with practice, hooking up all the pieces took awhile. I was so excited, I forgot to have my friend take pics of me on the lift. mad Next time.

Boat fired right up, we went out to open water and cruised down toward the dam, man was it fun. This was my first hole-shot ever, so don't have anything to compare, but it jumped right out, made me grin.

Coming back from the dam, water was like glass, so opened her up, got to 52.8 on gps, had it trimmed about 1/2 way, more than that didn't seem to help. And I can't swivel my body, so couldn't look for rooster tail, didn't want to get too shallow. This is all stock, no jackplate, and I guess stock prop. I was amazed how much trimming affected speed, it was fun tweaking it.

That was when I looked at gas gauge, showed less than 1/4, so we started marina hopping to find some, found out only Bayview had it and open. But at $4.98/gal, I only put $40 bucks in. This was also where we heard and saw the Rescue boat bringing the drowned person body in, kinda strange to be near something like this on a maiden voyage.

We then went under the I30 bridge to the north side, man it's like a whole 'nother lake. Stumps were rearing their heads out, out in 20ft of water, we stayed in the east side and went up aways and then decided that I ought to learn the lake a little better before getting adventurous there.

I think I am gonna have to put a bimini top on, being stationary in the driver seat got hot, my buddy jumped in the water twice while I roasted. Some shade would be good.

We came back in about 11:30, dropped my bud on the ramp, I was going in so slow he said, c'mon, sorry bud, my boat. Got a good feel for how to bump a ramp now. He backed the trailer in, it took me a couple tries at lining up, the wind was pushing me pretty good. I got her on in one shot, but was about 8" shy of the roller so had to gas it a little.

What a great way to start a day.
