Well I am tired but had a blast. We got down there Friday morning about 1am. Unloaded the boat and started fishing for bait. Daybreak we headed to one of my redfish spots. By 10 am we had our limit of reds and released I dont know how many overs. Left there and went to traylor island and threw some TTKs. Lost a big trout and caught about 12 keepers from 17-22 inches.
On Sat we headed back to the red hole and limited out by 9am. Headed to the jetties and freelined some shrimp. We caught pompano and some sheepies and some small trout. That evening we went back out and fished at night in the boat and caught some reds and 1 snook and lots of sheepies.
All in all it was a great trip. Fishing seems to be picking up. The patrol and game wardens are thick. We were checked 3 times in two days. I am glad to see they are doing their job and enforcing the law. I seen them write atleast 10 tickets this weekend. Make sure your boat is legal and the fish you keep because they were checking for everything.
Going back down May 1-7 for Piepunchers wedding but plan on fishing everyday and hope to get offshore that trip.
