Background... I picked up a great Merc Trophy Plus 26P prop from C-Man back in 2009 and had B&B Propeller in Richland Hills recondition it. I kept it as a spare or occasional go-fast prop for my old rig that normally runs a 25P.

I think I would like to step my spare down to a 24P prop for times when I'm running rough water conditions, so here's my question for you prop guys...

Would it work to repitch my spare Trophy Plus from 26P to 24P, or should I start looking to see if I can trade it?

cant make a 26 a 24

sst props can only go down 1 degree in pitch. anyone that says they can, are full of it.

now, there are "other" things that can be done to the 26 to gain more rpms, if you want. will cost 185.00 to do the 26. depending on how that prop looks.

Thanks for the feedback, Steve.

The prop is in good shape. I only used it a few times after I got it from C-Man and had B&B check it over back in '09. I have a Yamaha three blade for my in-boat spare.

It seems my better approach would be to sell or trade it for a 24P.

With light load, jacked up and trimmed just right, the 26 made my old TR21 fly on calm water. It was scary fun a few times, but I'm more interested in a work-horse spare now, something a step down from my regular 25.

Thanks again, Steve.

Thanks for the offer, Steve. Your new 24P prop sounds super, but I only paid C-Man $200 for this Trophy Plus. The price difference for your nice new prop would be too high for a work-horse spare.

I think I'll need to list the old 26P in Trading Post. It's got slight abrasions but no nicks/dings. I really appreciate your advice and kind offer.
