I know this might be in the wrong section but I need help. My foot control on my trolling motor is locked up, I can't push the peddle up or down. Anyone ever have this problem or anyone know how to fix it. Any feed back would be much appreciated.

You broke a steering cable(s). Where are you located?

the pedal would still go up and down with a broke cable wouldn't it? seems like mine did. Last time mine was locking up like that I had a bad bearing.

Can't move it at all? Does the foot control wiggle a little and feel like it might be the cable?
I have had a kinked single push pull cable make it hard to turn.

Is the trolling motor in the up/stored position.........just have to ask.

It's the same if its up or down. It moves a little bit but not much.

I would be willing to bet on the bearings my did that got extremly hard to move. Its a pretty simple fix if you have some basic tools. Pm me if you want details on what i learned while replacing bearing.

Mine was just exhibiting those same symptoms. Turns out the upper shaft was bent. Fixed it before it broke the cable. Got all my parts from marine parts plus .com. Motorguide

I would take it to ON-SITE on Lake Fork. Turn into LFM and it is on the right just before you get to LFM. Fast service. Usually same day or next day. Other places may take 2-3 weeks.
