Planning on heading out to Texoma this evening and trying for a few stripers around the Cedar Mills area. Just wondering if anyone had any tips or reports. I have a rather small boat so I wanna stay relatively close to that area.

Have not been up to Texoma since May but am going to take my son Saturday morning. We have a family thing up there in the afternoon so I thought we might get some fishing in early. We launch out of Cedar Mills. From there you have fairly quick access to Mill Creek flats, the islands,Buncombe creek and the main river channel. If you would post up a report for the area it would be great.

We didn't do too bad. We put in at Cedar Mills and just ran over to the first point to the east by Gainesville Boat Club. We trolled for about 2 hours and ended up with about 8 decent fish. We tried a few different baits but the one that worked the best was a solid white bomber Long A. We also caught a few on a Firetiger Long A. I think if we would of put on a little deeper running crank we may have caught a few more, the sonar showed alota fish holding around 18-25 foot. Our baits were running about 10-12 feet. We didn't have but one small sandbass for the first hour then it picked up pretty good. This is the first fish we caught and almost all 8 were around the same size. Hope I could help!
