Huge improvements across the lake in this major update! Lots of new contour data, underwater structures, and more accurate shorelines! Upload the data for free at our webstore! www.navionics.com . Your chart card must be purchased since Oct 2010 to get this upload!

Screen shots are before and after from the Lowrance HDS series (HotMaps Premium level detail).

Good stuff!!

Theres a software update live for NP2, it will read the new data as long as the chart is updated.

Try this.

The new map will read without the NP2 update though, as long as you update the chart card.

It sounds like you need to update the sortware of the GPS unit. Is it an HDS? Otherwise, make sure the "seabed areas" on the HDS chart option menu is set to "on". I was using an HDS-7 yesterday for the screen captures, and I had to update the software to get the full feature set.

It depends. 45 minutes to a few hours. It depends on your internet service. I generally recommend using a direct lan connection vs. wireless (it is faster on my system).

Again, we are seeking to improve these speeds, but the new data is worth the wait.
