PearlJam559, I've lived on Amon G. Carter Lake for the majority of the years 1988-2007. Yes, the boat ramp on the new side of the lake (the one across from Big Sandy Camp) usually is packed with 20-30 trucks and trailers during summer time and weekends. However, during weekdays the "old side" of the lake rarely is "hammered" at all. I've fished it over 200 days a year, as my parents home is located near it. (They live on the golf course and a short one minute walk from the front door to the dock found me in the tree stump area.)....

I have lots of memories of the lake. Send me a private message if you'd like to discuss memories of my hometown! I may be going back up to my parent's house this Saturday with my brother and woman, to go out and chase the healthy white bass schools that have taken over.
