Lance,

Are you sure you are wanting to bounce your lure off bottom and docks? If you are, you might want to look at some deeper diving plugs. Something like the H2O M model or really deep diving D model. Depends on how deep you are fishing, but the 1.5 and 2.5 H2O and the Strike King KVD's are designed to run relatively shallow. Nothing wrong with that, but bumping bottom is not the real characteristic, unless you are fishing in less than 3' of water. The Bomber, Bandit and Norman CB's have baits that dive 5-8' or even 12' (Norman Middle N or Bandit 200 for 5-8' and DLN and 300 go to 12').

Just something to think about. The square bills are designed to glance off of wood and rocks, but only if they are relatively shallow. The Rapala DT series is a little more expensive, but the lure DIVE TOO X'. If you can find coffin bills that dive in that range, they are normally better, because they are also designed to deflect off of whatever they run into. STILL, a LOT of trial and error to find out which one works for you. Hope this helps.

Tight lines, keep safe and good luck.

I love throwing the Bomber series of cranks. Ive tried a whole mess load of cranks and I feel personally Bomber is the best in my experience. Just my 2 cents.

I like the Strike King KVD 1.5 square bill, and also the Bandit 200 series. Both catch bass.

In memory of my childhood friend Dan Sterling, who taught me at an early age how to catch bream with a hand-line, and who unknowingly hooked me on fishing for life.

The F-4 Fury Squarebill is starting to get some very good results. The action on them is unbelievable. The pros that have used them say this bait will rival any balsa bait. They are all hand painted.

H2O makes a square bill that dives 5-8 feet. Model CDM or CRM. Really nice good for bouncing off cover.

I throw a lot of bandits in shallower water and dd22's in deeper.

My all time favorite however are the old school original Bagely's Super b and killer b

they don't make um like that anymore unfortunately.

Agreed. I used to use the Bagley Honey B's and catch a ton of fish on them in shallow water. My favorite is now the LC RC 2.5's although the Bandits are very good.

Please don't massacre me for this, but the Tourney Special from Bass Pro Shops worked well for us on Fork this weekend.

At $1.99 each they are a bargain.

Color was black top with white sides and a red spot under the bill. They run about 12 ft deep.

One guy in our boat lost a Lucky Craft and tried it out - after screaming. Great for schooling fish off the points.

the goal is to run under docks and bang the piers as well as going paralel along the bank and ticking off rocks the whole way down.

I'm gonna go pick up a couple colors of the strike king KVDs you guys mentioned and some of the h20 CRMs in a couple colors today and give em a shot next time I'm out.

I've got a bandit 200 and 300 I think. Don't think I have a 100, I'll have to check my other box. I've gotta get a better tackle solution than I'm using now.
