I bought a Lowrance fish finder last weekend from Bass Pro and thought I would give a try Saturday at Lake Fork. I caught the first fish of the day on a jig in 13ft of water. We didn't see any schooling action until just after 10am. We caught a few on flukes then decided to go to lunch at Lake Fork Marina. I had the lunch special, chicken fried steak, it was pretty darn scary. They need to open a CVS pharmacy next to the restaurant.

After lunch we launched at another creek and fished a tree line in 20-25ft of water. Thats when the action began. We caught four bass of off one tree and three off another. We were using 10 in power worms and 1/2ounce jigs until I snagged them all.

Switched to ounce with no luck but it was a sketchy color jig to say the least. I switched to a one ounce jig and on my first cast landed this little girl. She swallowed it!

These last series of pictures have a great story to go with them. As we were paddling back to the ramp I marked what I thought to be sandies on my fish finder. I tied on a red eye shad on my spinning rod then put the rod back in the rod hold. A group of Bass blew up on the shoreline chasing shad; I cast my 10 in worm into the school then immediately drop the rod in my lap. I grabbed my spinning outfit and casted the rattle trap in the school and reeled the lure back to the boat. As I was reeling I noticed line on my 10in worm rod was right around my kayak. I dropped my spinning rod in my lap with the rattle trap hanging 2 feet below my kayak. I reeled in the excess line and set the hook on my worm rod. I fight this fish for a split second before it gets off. As its making its escape it sees my rattle trap dangling in the water and takes off with it. She put up a heck of a fight!

Any advice on where to launch safely? Did you have to pay a launch fee?
