Was out at a lake near my parents house over in Colleyville fishing with white bread of all things (generally works great in city parks where people feed the ducks), line went tight, set the hook, and heard my Garcia 6500UC scream! 35 minutes later after running the shoreline a bit and several big runs by the fish...the beast surfaced. Thank god for the boga grip. 45" long and est 30" girth. For reference I'm 6'2 195lbs and that fish still looks big laying next to me. The other picture is my buddy Matt holding the fish up and you can really see the thickness of the fish. Enjoy!

Awesome job Trent! Maybe you can enlarge the images some so that the fish is more visible. I bet it was a rush!

i know the park that you are in, that fish has been caught several times... without giving the name away, is there a play area right next to it, and a little bridge over part of it that doesnt have water in it right now?

Nope not the same park. The one you're talking about is the one that made the news a few weeks back when that boy caught a 43" Blue at Kimzy Park. This fish was considerably larger weight wise and a couple inches bigger. This lake is a little more private than the other one

I'm jealous, and yet I'd prolly pee my pants if I got near one that size!

It was released, hoping next time to have an IGFA certified scale big enough to weigh the beast and remember to take a legit girth measurement. I caught that fish on 12lb test which I'm pretty sure would be the IGFA record for that line class.
