I'm going to take my fiance and aunt fishing on satarday, but from what ya'll have been posting there isnt much of anything biting anywhere. Is this true? They'd be happy catching whiting or cats in the surf, but are they still kickin? Any info is greatly appreciated.

I went to the surf yesterday and caught nothing but whiting. I was frustrated at the size (less than a foot) so I left. Galveston fishing reports also stated that only whiting were caught yesterday. This past week, a lot of whiting have been reported caught on the surf and rocks.

What the size limit on WHITING? Are they good eating? Any report on Lady Fish or Pompeno?

Last time i checked the Texas parks & wildlife website, there was no size or bag limit. I've never eaten them (refrig conked out, so it all went bad), but its supposed to be really good.
