Man it's been a few years since I've been to Galveston for the Flounder run. We'd fish Seawolf and tear them up! I guess we started fishing there back in 1977. Anyway -- How's it looking for this weekend? wind, clarity, water temp etc.

Any other suggestions for the area?

Thanks for your imput!

Saturday looks nice as its not to hot and the wind is 10-15(i should be down the street at the south jetty hopefully). Sunday is suppose to be more cloudy and a bit more windy.

The water is definatly starting to cool off...but im not sure about clarity sorry...

We launched from 4th street in Galveston and headed for Seawolf and surronding. As I suspected the wind killed us. We had a youngster that couldn't handle the waves at all and we ended up taking him to shore to fish for a while. I caught a small red and had a few good bumps but the wind just kept getting stronger and the little guy was finished!

We saw a few nice Flonder caught but I think it's just starting up and will get better soon. We need another nice front to hity and look out!

I'm ready to go back but I'm wading next time so I can cover the area that I want and fish as long as I desire. It's nice to be able to move along the mud flats until you start hitting them.

Good luck to all during the Flounder run cheers !

There are plenty of flounder starting to stage on the edges of bays that have a cut close by. San Luis Pass is just starting to see Flounder around. Most of the flounder reports I have seen have been from edges of bays. There are still plenty of flatties in the marshes and shallow flats though. This cool air seems to come and go. Here is a nice one that was caught a few weeks ago in the greater Galveston area by a friend of mine...
