First let me introduce myself since I am a newb here, My name is Scott and I live in the Saginaw area. Recently my wife and I have started canoe fishing, mostly at EM,Marine Creek and the Little Fossil Creek. My wife found Loughridge lake on the map and we tried to access it legally and found no way so when we got home we started reseaching it. Well come to find out on 6/14/2011 Ft Worth plans to but the land around the lake and turn it into a park. Here is the link http://www.fortworthgov.org/council_packet/mc_review.asp?ID=15439&councildate=6/14/2011. With the Large mouth that I catch at LFC I only can figure there are some real lunkers in the lake!

Wow, I have heard of some good fishing out there, this place is almost within a mile from my house and I have always wanted to fish it. This might be awesome news for us Saginaw folks unless they make it into a "Private subdivision park" with limited access. Thanks for sharing. I fish Fossil creek all the time, just got back from there a little while ago.

When yall say Little Fossil Creek, are you talking about Western Center & the bridge, the banks behind Braums & the apartments? Or am I missing another spot?

I'm pretty sure that is Big Fossil Creek at Western Center and I35N. I think Little Fossil is further south.

We just started finding little local fishing holes and ponds around here Miketbob but we fish right behind the apartments behind Shady oaks, there is a mowed trail at the back of the parking lot so we can put the canoe in. That link looks like it going to be a public park, it has a projected view of what they are going to do.I know people don't like sharing their fishing spots(any suggestions would help) that much but my wife and I are always looking. We also found a pond behind Kellers town hall that you could see the bass coming from under the vegetation that we are going to hit up.

Welcome Otters! Some of us are happy to share, some are not, depending, I guess, on how we've been burned in the past. The unfortunate part about sharing publically on the forum is there can be, and often are, poachers and others that lurk and clean a place out when they find out about it. Most of us would be glad to share more once we meet you, or even share via PM. If I was up in FW I'd show you a few places, but, alas, I'm in Houston. Good luck! p.s. if you post like you have, and include pics of any fun fishing trips you take, that helps open the door too!

Thanks for the tips, My wife used to bank fish with her mom and I mostly go with a guides because I don't have the storage and don't enjoy the up keep with owning a boat.I enjoy saltwater fishing down in Galveston, I mostly do 12hr trips but have been on 36hr tuna trip that was a blast but I also go freshwater fishing up here. The last two freshwater trips I have been on have really sucked, first one the flywheel came loose on the motor and we sat out there for two hours drifting on Richland Chambers, then went to Texoma a month later for stripers and no dice(thats fishing). My wife and I have have had some fun doing some bank and canoe fishing and realized we need get educated more so we can catch more than perch and the occasional bass and try for different species. I am glad for the warm welcome on the forum and hope to fish with some of yall soon.

Otters, my mom is Assistant City Secretary for the City of Keller. TPWD's stocking report shows only half of the stocking history of that pond. She's shown me invoices from other fisheries stocking over the years. Also, there is a local FLW angler that lives 5 minutes from there(wont say his name) but he's gotten permission from the city a few times to release some hogs in there. Just a little FYI. Fishin there has been slow for me lately.

a developing subdivision near my house was put on hold a couple of years ago with the downturn of the economy. They had built and paved the roads and walked away. There was an old 2 acre pond there that had been in the middle of a fenced field Now there was no fence and a road up to it.I knew if the development ever started again the first thing up would be a fence and gates.Even though that has happened, for a year I had some serious fishing going on.Hope it happens the next section someone wants to develop.
