Tackletour had a glowing review. Other reviews I read listed some possible production problems, like metal shavings loose inside the reel.

They couldn't fix my reels and basically never called me back when I needed service. All I got was an answering machine during business hours. Good luck trying to email them. Still waiting on parts from November 2009. They like to sell them, but they do not back up their product.

I have the speed spool tournament the one down from the tp and it is a great reel it has long smooth casts, good drag, and very smooth when reeling fish in I tested it out the other day on a chunky 5 pounder...was smooth as butter and as far as customer service goes I only called up there to ask about how much their carbon fiber handle costs they answered quick and the lady helped me out so i'd say they're great...NOT made by pflueger!

I ended up getting my parts for my Lews from Pflueger or Pure Fishing. Funny after two months of waiting for parts due to they still didn't have the parts I ended up finding the exact parts from pure fishing. They are probably ran off the same assembly line as basspro and pflueger reels. In the next year or two when they no longer support this line and change the models good luck. That about the time these cheap reels break.

I don't know how much I have to keep harping about this but Pflueger nor Lews makes reels. They buy them off the floor in Korea. I can do the same and call it the CPS reel company and offer a 1 year warranty. Order a thousand and order an extra 200 for replacement. Cost each 15 bucks average out the 200 extra your cost is $18.00. Sell at $49.00. INvestement, $18,000.00 sold for $49,000.00. After a year the customer is screwed unless you can ship them pieces off returned reels in boxes. Does this reel look familiar: http://www.alibaba.com/product-free/104793914/Baitcast_reel.htmlhttp://www.globalsources.com/gsol/I/Fishing-reel/p/sm/1044032571.htmThere are hundreds of these plants throughout China and Korea to make these things. Lews, The Garcia Low Profile, Pflueger, Pinnacle to name a few are all made like this.
