Going to buy a new si/dsi finder soon and have been leaning towards the hds 7 bundle just to save a few bucks but I'm just not sure if I want to have another power robber with the lss1 module. It just seems like it's one more thing to go wrong but I am used to the way Lowrance has it's options and have had good luck with their products in the past. But then again Doug V. is always helping people figure out what they are doing wrong, so it would be nice to have the help if needed. I know it's basically a juggle but what do you think? The prices are close enough between the Lowrance & Hummer that it's not really the issue. Any suggestions?

O.K so it doesn't draw much then, thanks. I just seem to keep putting more & more junk in my boat and if I have to go to a bigger battery the damn boat might sink rolfmao. You happy with the hds? Would you buy it again or go h-bird?

My preference is Humminbird. Great service and easy to use. You don't need to buy the LSS with Humminbird. Everything including 2D sonar runs off one puck. Buy an 898 or 998 and never look back. Doug is awesome and will help you as you said. thumb thumb

I am running 2 hds 8 units and 2 lss1 units. I'm having no battery drain problems.

You need to buy what you want, it is your' choice after all. As far as Lowrance and Humminbird being close in price, I just purchased an 1198c si online with free shipping for $2400, brand new in the box with everything.

The "factory outlet" is not any more factory outlet than any other retailer. Their prices are not as good as other retailers like BBG, Three Rivers Marine Electronice, Universal Mania, etc.
BOE Marine is mentioned on this site occasionally and probably has better prices than the "factory outlet"

universal mania or poorfish.com will probably have the best prices you can find...if they have them in stock
