Does any one know if you can just cut all that [censored] off? All the exhaust regenerating filters and stuff. Or change the system out? I was told on the newer ones you couldn't, but I read my owners manuel and it didn't say anything about voiding the warrenty or not to add after market exhaust. I had an 06 5.9, and I just cut the muffler off under it, and made it a straight pipe all the way back.

if your talking about the new liquid additive system NO, you will screw up the readings to the puter, check into some of the chips for your engine. all the new epa krapola is junk but now has to be there for proper readings.
been workin on a buddys new 5500 for over the road use and that krap is a pain to say the least.

you can delete the DPF, but you also need to get a programmer to reprogram the ECM for the DPF delete

You can get rid of it, but it is not nearly as simple as cutting it off like with you older one. you will have to put a programmer on it, it WILL void your warranty if they find out about it, and it is illegal to run it like that on the street, so you wont pass inspection and you could potentialy be ticketed for it. It is my understanding that it is a federal emmisions law, so the punishment/fine may be a little stiffer than what you may think.

it can be done...you need a chip and a new exhaust kit..i recommend atleast keeping a muffler under there just so its not obvious but in texas diesels are a safety only inspection for now and it doesn't have to pass any emmisions test...keep everything you take off in good working order so you can put it back if they change the inspection rules...

Here is what I did with my 6.7 Cummins. DPF delete, left the muffler and CAT in place. If they look under the truck they will be looking for the muffler and the CAT.

Did the EGR delete. Installed a Smarty Jr. Programmer to turn off the regeneration process. If you are mechanically inclined, you can do this yourself. If not....PM me and I can give you the name of a great place to get it done.

You will absolutely LOVE your truck after this is done. It will run way better than it does now.
