Went to Fayette this morning to fish and could not launch because there was a truck and trailer underwater at the launch ramp. So I hung around and took pictures.

The fellow was in his boat preparing to launch when his truck started sliding down the ramp. He jumped out and tried to catch it but was too late. Pictures below of the rescue.

I think he forgot to put the truck in park. That type of ramp with cross slots does not get that slippery. The slope looks to be about 15 degrees. I think it rolled , not slid. Too bad though. That was a nice truck.

That stinks! Makes me feel a little better about bank fishing most of the time though.

Smith,

It was in park. The ramp has an algae growth on it. Apparently when he gunned the motor to pull his boat off it pulled the truck instead.

That ramp does get very slick actually. Ive spun tires in 4 wheel low before in an f250 and i launch a boat 3-4 days a week so i know not to gun it. It can be dangerous

My dad drowned our truck at Texoma. It was a blue 07 Tacoma. He was backing it in and on the first try we couldn't get the boat on ther because it had so much growth on the hull. He backed it in further and didn't notice the water coming inot the cab until it was too late. I heard soem new cuss words taht day and so did the little kids at the boat ramp.
