Do ya'll remember the big opening weekend on joe pool in 1986? How the lake got hammered for the first couple of months. Great anticepation for another lake fork within 30 min drive in the metroplex. It didn't take very long after to see that lake go bottoms up within a couple of yrs.

I was always irritated by the fencing of everything forcing you to enter a city park or the state park where you have to pay to fish.I was used to Tawakoni with unlimited free bank areas.

We were second in line on the first day only to have the GP police tell us we could not park there and had to go to the end of the line. We were like boat #102 up in Britton. Used to catch 60 fish a day easy. That was Long before the sandies hit and ruined it for Black Bass fishing. You can still catch some but not like back then. Good Times Man!

When are the new lake in NE Texas suppose to open up? One around Bonham. They are working on. How about the Sulphur River project. Would like to fish them before I get too old.

Lower Bois D'Ark Creek Reservoir near Bonham is planned for construction to be complete in 2017 and open for use in 2020.
