Went to the Oasis bar for july 4th and saw a TON of Hydrilla all over the marina. Is it coming back for good? Any grass on the main lake?

I noticed that too. We were there for lunch yesterday.

I've been on the lake 3-4 times and haven't found it in any of the spots I've been. I guess I could pull that stuff up at the marina and transfer it to some place I wanted it to grow.

That is good news for JP...I used to live in Cedar Hill before moving to Flower Mound in 2004. I was fortunate to fish JP when the hydrilla was in full swing. Had some really nice trips on JP during that time.

as long as we don't tear it all out at the marina

there's a cove south of Loyd that is full of it as well. It's shallow and dirty, but the grass is there and healthy. If the powers that be can keep their GD hands off the herbicide, we might have a resurgence. It's a completely different lake with the grass, and 10 times better.

Thanks again for the post. I spent a lot of years on the lake (before and after the grass) and the grass made the lake much easier to fish. The lake really needs the grass with the kind of pressure that it faces as a metroplex lake.

Great news!

All the skiers and recreational boaters will make sure it stays barren. There may be a ton of lake they can use for that stuff where grass wont interfere with them anyways, but they'll be damned if they don't get to buzz fisherman.

If they will leave it alone. Wish it would come back on Sandlin.
